Australian Open 2009
Baiardo was hard at work at the 2009 Australian Open. Sixteen (16) brand new stringing machines were on site in the Wilson stringing room to help the world class staff string over 3,500 racquets for the world’s best players. 2009 was the first year Wilson was the official stringer of the event, and Ron Rocchi, Wilson’s Tour Equipment Manager, stated “the stringers were very happy to have Baiardo here to string on. When you string as many racquets as they do in a day, the machine really makes a difference on your body.” Wilson has signed a two year contract with Tennis Australia to be the official stringer, so the team will be back in Melbourne next year, as well as their large stops in Miami, and New York.
